Dear members,
First we would like to wish each of you a happy new year and a prosperous 2011 season. We would like to thank each and every one of you for your support in 2010. We are blessed to have you as members and thank you for making our lives and our golf course an enjoyable place to live and work in. It is truly our members that make Island Green Golf Club the friendly family atmosphere that it is today.

2010 was an exciting year for us as we finished the last hole and were able to open it for play making us a full 9 hole golf course. We are so pleased to see everyone enjoying the full challenge of the 9 holes, and and thank you for your understanding that as the course matures over time, that the playing condition will improve each year. We will work hard over this year to improve the course and to make improvements that will make golfing at Island Green more enjoyable.

 Dana will also be available to give golf lessons throughout the year as well as doing golf club repair and re-gripping. He will also be doing swing test and building golf clubs to fit your swing. Check with Dana for more details.

Club Storage

This year we will be finishing our Pro Shop construction with a seating area where you can relax after a game of golf. We hope to be licensed early in the year so we can service the requests of our members and non-members.
We also will be adding a washroom for your convenience. We will be starting the year with a newly renovated club storage area. Those who use this convenient service will have a cleaner, safer storage area with more convenient access to their clubs. This service will be open to all our members on a first come, first serve basis. Club storage allows you to keep your clubs more organized- no more banging them up or your car when getting your clubs in and out of your vehicle. No more forgetting your clubs or running back home to get them. No more taking up space in your trunk. There will be an area for you to wash and clean your clubs. Club storage area will be securely locked after hours.

 Monday and Thursday League Play
League play is open to members and non-members, so make up your teams as soon as possible, ASAP to ensure you get in on the fun.
Cost for league play- Members- $5.00 per night dues
Non-members- $16.00 per night, includes green fees and dues

If you are a single player wishing to be on a team, please put your name in on the list and we will do our best to place you on a team. If you would like to be on the spare list, please let us know. You may put a team in one or both leagues. Open to both men and women.

Monday 2 Ball League starts May 30^th at 6:00
each player must have a handicap established, 5 rounds of 9 holes will give you a handicap. If you have no handicap, a handicap of 5 will be assigned and will be adjusted each night.
4 players on each team- must have a team name
all league money will be spent on trophies, prizes, and banquet.

Thursday Scramble League
Starts on June 3^rd  at 6:00
4 players on each team, must have a team name, each player must have an established handicap. There will be a point system:
Example: two players from team A will play two players from team B, then the second two players from team A will play against the second two players on team B. Teams will play the front 9 in the first week, and then they will play the back 9 the second week.
2 points for front 9
2 points for back 9
2 points for best 18 for a total possible points of 10
Tie games are worth 1 point

Tuesday Ladies' Day
Starting May 24^th at 10:00

 Wednesday Skins Game
Starting May 25^th  at 6:00
costs $5, no handicap ( Bring your A game! ) 

Friday Golf
Friday at 10:00
Just show up and draw for your partner- There will be several games we will be playing -scramble, -2 Ball-alternate shot -Freeze1 -Bonus Ball -Skins(single or Team skins)
your team can be anywhere from 2 golfers to 4 golfers and sometimes single play
( lots of fun!) Cost: $2
Gift Certificates will be given out for the First and Second place each week.
There is also a trophy at stake for what we call “ Island Green Luckiest Golfer”
This is the player with the most points at the end of the year. The one who was lucky enough to be on the winning team the most has his name put on the trophy for the 2011 season.
The winner for 2010 was Ron Emmett

 Match Play Championship
We will be having our 2^nd annual Island Green Golf Club Match Play Championship for 2011
Players will play head to head for the
Championship Trophy 1^st place net Champion 2011
                                      1^st place gross Champion 2011
Their names will go on our large trophy that is on display in the pro shop and each champion will receive a keeper trophy for themselves.
Match Play will be starting on July 1^st.
This is a very big event and will fill up very fast.
Last year it was full in 2 ½ days.
Only open to the first 24 golfers.
Cost $20 which will allow you to compete in both net and gross competitions. 

We will be trying to have one members function each month; which will include Golf, food, and prizes.

 Last year was a great success, and looking forward to an even better year this year
